It is also used by external applications as an antalgic for neuralgia and rheumatism, and as a revulsive for ulcers and burns. The leaves were used as analgesic and anti-inflammatory, the leaves and berries were taken orally as an expectorant for the treatment of cough and bronchitis. The boiled leaves of Hedera helix was applied to the part of the body afflicted, fight ringworm, scabies and worm.
